Juanita Mosqueda, 78, of Olton, died Friday, May 11, 2018, in Lubbock. Rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, May 13, 2018, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 14, 2018, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Sylvester DSouza officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Juanita was born May 15, 1939, in Runge, Texas, to Vicente and Marcela Zamora Gonzales. She married Susano Mosqueda on November 13, 1956, in Spur, Texas. In 1966, she moved to Olton and was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a member of the Guadalupanas. Juanita loved to garden, sew, cook, and bake and was talented at all of them. She was considered a great friend, loving spouse, and wonderful mother. Most important to Juanita was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Susano Mosqueda in 2013, and six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Art Mosqueda of Lubbock, Manuel Mosqueda of Levelland, and Ramiro Mosqueda of Abernathy, two daughters, Isabel Ward of Andrews and Adela Reid of Plainview, a brother, Jose Gonzales of Nordheim, and two sisters, Esperanza Garay of Midland and Maria Yates of Terrell. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
