Juaquina Carabajal Castillo, 83, of Olton, died Friday, December 2, 2016, at her home in Olton. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 5, at Trinity Baptist Church in Olton with Pastor Arturo DeLaCruz and Pastor Erik Flores officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Juaquina was born August 10, 1933, in Beeville, Texas, to Pedro and Guadalupe (Arrizola) Carabajal. On January 3, 1947, she married Joe Castillo in Sinton, Texas. She moved to Olton in 1953 from Beeville and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. A very hard working lady, Juaquina taught her family the values of being honest, working hard, and loving others. Juaquina was always faithful to her church, her family and her community. She loved to sing and dance and she will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Castillo, in 1997, two sons: Joe Henry Castillo in 1994 and Hector Castillo in 2010, four brothers and eight sisters.
Survivors include her son, Ernest Castillo of Crowley, TX, and three daughters, Jackie Martinez of Jayton, Eloyce Matthews of Dimmitt, and Lupe Crum of Altamonte Springs, FL. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
