Kathleen Rose, 83, of Olton, died Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in Olton.  Cremation arrangements are under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.  No services are scheduled at this time.

Kathleen was born April 1, 1937, in Clairemont, Texas, to Lee and Virginia (Burgan) McLaury.  On August 3, 1957, in the chapel at West Texas College in Canyon, Kathleen married the love of her life, Oliver Rose.  They were married over 63 years.  She graduated from West Texas College in 1959 and became a teacher.  Teaching school in Georgia, Germany, and Olton, Mrs. Rose finished her career as the Olton High School secretary from 1980 to 1998.  Kathleen loved kids and while she spent her time teaching, she was also a Cub Scout leader.  She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, oil painting, and was amazing when it came to technology.

Survivors include her husband, Oliver Rose of Olton, her son, Steven Rose and wife Shelli of Olton, and a sister, Carolyn Shults of Rising Star.  She was blessed with two grandchildren, Penni Chappell and her husband Reagan and Robyn Stevenson and her husband Kyle and four great-grandchildren: Hagen, Keidi, Luke, and Abigail.
