K.W. "Wayne" Carson, 88, of Olton, died Friday, July 26, 2019, in Lubbock.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, July 29, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Olton.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday, July 28, 2019.

Wayne was born January 27, 1931, in Levelland, Texas, to Herschell and Lucille (Gentry) Carson.  He graduated from Olton High School in 1949 and attended Texas A&M University.  On May 24, 1950, Wayne married Peggy Nicholas and they were married for 69 years.  Working the land as a farmer was Wayne's passion and that extended into working cattle.  A member of the First Baptist Church, he loved horses and traveling.  Wayne led an active and exciting life.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Water skiing, snow skiing, and riding motorcycles were also favorite things to do.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Carson of Olton, his son, Alan Carson and his wife Noreen of Sweetwater, his daughter, Kathline McClain and her husband Charles A. of Houston, two brothers, Harlan Carson of Olton and Eddy Carson of Dalhart, and two sisters, Alene Allcorn of Olton and Fern Gunter of Olton.  He was blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
