Larry D. Johnson, 68, of Hart, died Friday, November 22, 2019, in Lubbock.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 25, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Clint Shelton, nephew, officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Larry was born January 11, 1951, in Amherst, Texas, to Lenrel and Adell (Cavett) Johnson.  He graduated from Olton High School in 1969 and attended West Texas State in Canyon.  He graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a bachelor of science degree in forestry.  On June 4, 1983, Larry married Gayle Reed in Hart.  Larry was a member of the Hart Lions Club and the First Baptist Church. Larry was a talented carpenter and could make just about anything.  A very patient and loving man, Larry loved to dance and spend time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sandra Mogg.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle Johnson of Lubbock, his son, Kyle Johnson and his wife Jenna of Shallowater, a brother, Alan Johnson and his wife D'Lynne of Leander, and a sister, Darla Ballard and her husband Bob of Olton.  He was blessed with one granddaughter, Claire Johnson.
