LaVerna Thompson, 91, of Olton, died Thursday, August 15, 2013, in Olton. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 18, 2013, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Plainview with Father Bruce Green officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Thompson was born October 11, 1921, in Bend, Oregon to Homer and Bertha Mayrand. She married Fred E. Thompson in 1944 in Oakland, CA. LaVerna moved to Olton in 1955 and was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Plainview. She was a devoted mother and strong supporter of all her children's activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Thompson, in 2004, two sisters, and a great-grandson.

Survivors include her son, Roger Thompson and his wife, Linda of Olton, and her daughter, Pat Boedeker of Plainview. She was blessed with two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
