Leon Hernandez, Jr., 43, of Amarillo and formerly of Olton, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 11, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Brother Larry Holder officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Leon was born April 25, 1969, in Guymon, OK to Leon Hernandez, Sr. and Maria Rivera. He married Petra Gonzales on June 18, 1994 in Olton and were married for 18 wonderful years. He moved from Olton to Amarillo, worked for Affiliated and attended St. Thomas Catholic Church. Leon loved to dance and took great pride in helping construct wind turbines. His greatest pleasure came from watching his nieces and nephews and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Gracie Hernandez and his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Petra Hernandez of Amarillo, two sons, Augustine Hernandez and Jacob Gabriel Hernandez of Amarillo, one daughter, Bella Selena Hernandez of Amarillo, parents, Leon Hernandez, Sr. and stepmother, Yolanda of Amarillo, and mother, Maria Rivera of Plainview, seven brothers, Alejandro Hernandez of Austin, Michael Hernandez of Amarillo, Christopher Hernandez of Amarillo, Benjamin Hernandez of Plainview, Leon Hernandez, Jr. of Amarillo, Mark Hernandez of Amarillo, and Phillip Trinidad of Amarillo along with 36 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews.
