Obituary
Leona Martin, 101, of Olton, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 in Olton. Services are 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Brother Larry Holder and Rev. Gayle Thornberry officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Leona was born June 10, 1908 in Matador, Texas. In 1926, she married Charlie Martin in Gordon, TX. He preceded her in death in 1941. She moved to Olton in 1943 from Lingleville, TX. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Leona loved to paint and do crafts. She also loved working in her garden.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Souter, and Robbie Bridge, and two brothers, Buster Edwards and Edward Burris.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Martin and his wife, Wanda of Olton, and James Martin of Austin. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren.
