Lorene was a wonderful cook and made great peanut butter cookies, grape jelly, and popcorn balls, just to name a few. Always active, Lorene had beautiful flower beds that she worked in tirelessly. She was a member of the Eastern Star and served in many offices, including Worthy Matron, in the Hale Center and Plainview chapters. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Bob Ross, and was always up for a good hug.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Belyeu, in 2004, a daughter, Rita Cates, in 2015, a grandson, Matthew Cy Jackson, three brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include her son, Ron Belyeu and wife Cindy of Edmonson, daughter, Ruthie Little of Hale Center, and a sister-in-law, LaVayne Gresham of Hale Center. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
