Louis Lopez, Jr., 73, of Olton, died Monday, January 4, 2016, in Lubbock. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 8, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Brother David Azam officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Louis was born January 1, 1943, in Medina County, Texas to Luis and Petra (Gusman) Lopez. On April 14, 1965, he married the love of his life, Linda Lee Burdan, in Hart Camp. A sergeant in the U.S. Army, Louis proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Louis was a diesel mechanic and owned and operated Western Tractor & Equipment for 35 years. He was a member of VFW Post 4479, Olton Boy Scout Pack 220, Troop 220, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Olton Baseball Association. Serving as Cub Master and Scout Master, Louis was also a founding member of the Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association. A graduate of Penn Foster College, Louis enjoyed gunsmithing, collecting antiques, and restoring old farm equipment and tractors.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Lopez of Olton, four sons: Louis Christopher Lopez, III. and his wife, Tina of Poteet, Jerry Lopez of Olton, Terry Lopez and his wife, Nicole of Amarillo, and Matt Lopez and his wife, Marisa of Plainview, an "adopted" son, Chris Jones of Olton, three brothers: E.G. Lopez and his wife, Runie of Spade, Henry Lopez and his wife, Pam of Stamford, and Leroy Lopez and his wife, Christina of Olton, and a sister, Marilyn Lopez of Olton. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
