L.T. Davis, 89, of Olton, died Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in Olton, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2023, at Olton Methodist Church with Mr. Glenn Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 8 and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2023, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

L.T. was born November 16, 1933, in Nelta, Texas, to William Richard and Jennie (Holmes) Davis.  He married Wanda Sue Carter on June 12, 1954 and they were married almost 69 years. L.T. served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. Moving to Olton in 1964, L.T. owned and operated Davis Pump and Drilling for 50 years and drilled over 2000 wells during that time. He grew up hunting and fishing and continued to enjoy that throughout his life.  Family was important to L.T. He was very involved in his children's lives and was a chaperone at many school activities throughout the years.  Known for his sense of humor, L.T. enjoyed his time at the local coffee shop, visiting and telling stories.

L.T. was preceded in death by his parents, W.R. and Jennie Davis, a son-in-law, Gary Gilbreath, three brothers, Richard Davis, Thomas Davis and George Davis, and a sister, Opal Shelton.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Davis of Olton, four sons, Gary Davis and wife Jana of Olton, Gregg Davis and wife Jill of Olton, Gerald Davis and wife Kim of Lubbock, and Glen Davis and wife Amy of Lubbock, daughter, Jennie White and husband Rich of Albuquerque, N.M., and one sister, Rosie Biggs of Tucson. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
