Mabel Bizzell, 94-96, of Olton, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, in Olton. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Brother Tom Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

According to Mabel, she was born March 7, 1922 (the government thought otherwise) in Washita County, Oklahoma, to William and Permelia Murphy. She married Gerald Bizzell on December 7, 1941, in Hobart, Oklahoma. Together, they moved to Olton in 1952 from McLean, Texas. Mabel owned and operated Bizzell's for 65 years. A member of the First United Methodist Church, Mabel was very involved in the church. She was a long-time Sunday School teacher, United Methodist Women secretary, and member of the church choir. She was very generous and gracious to all. Mabel loved to host parties, style shows, Christmas open houses and later, Tea and Talk with Mabel. A tough but soft-hearted woman, Mabel will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, in 1998 and 18 brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Gary Bizzell and his wife, Nancy of Hale Center and Gail Bizzell and his wife, Elizabeth of Olton and a daughter, Bobbye Dennis and her husband, Ronnie of Olton. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Lisa "Lesa" Davis and her husband, Jamey, Dr. Skylar Bizzell and his wife, Paige, DeAnn McGill and her husband, Jarrod, Pipar Martin and her husband, Jason, and Keith Bizzell and his wife, Dawn, and thirteen great grandchildren, Aiden and Kat, Alyssa and Todd, Jenica, Emily, Bliss, Jerica, Cade, Chelsey, Brooks, Sean, Berit, Jaley, and Sadie.
