Manuel Cordoba, 75, of Olton, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, in Plainview. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Olton Cemetery with Pastor Santos Rodriguez officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Manuel was born August 23, 1941, in Lampazos De Naranjo, Mexico, to Santiago and Nieves (Valdez) Cordoba. He moved to Olton in 1956 and married Maria Luisa Franco on February 14, 1961. Manuel was a hard working man who loved to dance and listen to music. He had an outgoing personality, loved to tease, and a heart of gold.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Maria Luisa, and a brother, Jimmy Cordoba.
Survivors include four sons, Ray Rodriguez and wife, Cori of Panhandle, Jesse Rodriguez and wife, Mary of Amarillo, Martin Cordova and wife, Laura of Allen, and Manuel Cordova, Jr. and wife, Lucia of Kyle; two daughters, Elsa Carrera of Plainview and Gracie Hernandez and husband, Manuel Conrado of San Antonio; five brothers, Francisco Cordoba, Ramon Cordoba, and Pasqual Cordoba, all of Arizona, Juan Cordoba and Santiago Cordoba, both of Amarillo; and three sisters, Josefina Requejo of Laredo, Guadalupe Rodriguez of Laredo, and Arcadia Reyes of Nuevo Laredo. He was blessed with ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
