Manuel Perez, Jr., 68, of Olton, died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in Lubbock. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Friday, November 11, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 12, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Manuel was born December 31, 1942 in San Marcos, Texas to Manuel and Evarista Teneyuque Perez. He married Janie Rivas on February 3, 1970 in Sheffield, Texas. He moved to Olton and was a farmer for 48 years. Manuel was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and served as the CCD teacher for seven years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ebodio Perez, Fortunato Perez, and Frank Perez.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Perez of Olton, three sons, Manuel Lee Perez and his wife, Velma of Lubbock, Jamie Lee Perez and his wife, Cindy of Amarillo, and Christopher G. Perez and his wife, Sameera of Amarillo, one brother, Henry Perez and his wife, Elfida of Olton, two sisters, Antonia Zamora of Olton and Carla Saucedo of Olton. He was blessed with four grandchildren: Marissa Rivera, Hope Perez, Brody James Perez, and Jameson Luke Perez.
