Maria Barrera, 77, of Olton, died Saturday, January 3, 2015, in Olton. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 8, 2015, at New Life Pentecost Church in Olton with Pastor Hilario Coronado officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Maria was born July 13, 1937, in Brackettville, Texas to Semplico and Maria (Charlles) Martinez. She moved to Olton in 1961 from Brackettville. She was very active at New Life Pentecost Church and a strong prayer warrior.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Joaquin, Carlos, and Joe Angel and a daughter, Bertha.

Survivors include two sons, Nabor Hernandez, Jr. of Earth and Rene Hernandez of Olton, four daughters, Janie Ramirez of Dimmitt, Virginia Jimenez of Olton, Silvia Nieto of Amarillo, and Elissa Contreras of Olton, three brothers, Eusebio Martinez of Denver, Sammy Martinez of Olton, and Ernest Martinez of Littlefield, and her sister, Ernestina Martinez of Olton. She was blessed with 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
