Maria Garza, 73, of Olton, died Wednesday, September 4, 2019, in Lubbock.  Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, Friday, September 6, 2019, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 7, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with Fr. Jacob Powell officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Maria was born May 10, 1946, in Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Carlos and Macedonia (Chairez) Solis.  On July 4, 1964, she married Reyes Garza in Idaho.  Maria moved to Olton in 1985 from Mountain Home, Idaho and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and was an amazing cook.  Dancing and watching the Texas Rangers were also Maria's favorite things to do.  Most important to Maria was her family and getting to spend time with them.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Reyes Garza, of Olton, four sons, Juan Garza and wife Elizabeth of Olton, Reyes Garza, Jr. and wife Brenda of Plainview, Richie Garza and wife Mashawn of Wildorado, and Eddie Garza of Olton, one daughter, Alicia Sanchez and husband Joe of Olton, three brothers, Manuel Solis of Dallas, Rene Solis and Adam Solis, both of Monte Alto, Texas, and one sister, Hilda Garcia of Dallas.  She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
