Maria Franco Gonzalez, 78, of Hale Center, died Monday, February 8, 2021, in Lockney.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2021, at Hale Center Cemetery in Hale Center, with Rev. Noe Gonzales officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, and from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center.

Maria was born February 16, 1942, in Branco Azul, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Salome and Isabel (Gomez) Franco.  She married Bonifacio Gonzalez on March 29, 1964, and they moved to Hale Center in 1972.  A homemaker, Maria was happiest while working around the house.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and loved to sing while doing the dishes and working.  Psalms 121 was special to her, as was her family, especially her granchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bonifacio Gonzalez, in 2020, two sons, Heriberto Gonzalez and Raul Gonzalez, a daughter, Ester Trevino, five siblings, and a granddaughter, Destinie Gonzalez.

Survivors include three sons, Ramon Gonzalez  and his wife Diana of Lubbock, Noe Gonzales and his wife Maribel of Tulia, and Jesus Gonzalez and his wife Gloria of Hale Center, her daughter, Eva Salas and her husband Rudy of Hale Center, and her twin brother, Jose Franco of Rifle, CO.  She was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
