Maria Juana Martinez passed away Monday, February 4, 2008 in Olton, Texas. Mass will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Olton at 2:00 PM with Father Martin Pena presiding. Burial will follow at Olton Cemetery.

Mrs. Martinez was born May 8, 1950 in Irapuato, Gto, Mexico. She married Octavio Martinez in 1972 at Rincon de Tamayo, Gto, Mexico. She moved to Olton in 1979 and was a member of Cursillista and St. Peter's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Octavio Martinez of Olton, her mother, Maria Mercedes Zaragoza of Plainview, five sons, Raul Martinez of Sleepy Eye, MN, Jose Octavio Martinez of Littlefield, Jesus Martinez, Juan Luis Martinez and Juan Carlos Martinez all of Olton, three daughters, Maria Letisia Martinez and Mayra Alexandra Martinez of Olton and Juana Newberry of Findley, Ohio, five brothers, Cirilo Diaz, Jose Diaz, and Jose P. Diaz of Plainview, Jesus Diaz and Nemesio Diaz of Olton, two sisters, Maria Encarnacion Villasenor of Irapuato, Mexico, and Maria Mercedez Monzon of Halfway, and 16 grandchildren.
