Maria Soledad Romero, 88, of Earth, died Monday, December 1, 2014, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Temple of Adoration in Earth with Pastor Angie Castillo officiating. Interment will follow at Earth Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton.

Maria was born August 24, 1926 in Mexico to Epifanio and Maria Ramirez Garcia. She married Atanacio Romero in 1950 in Durango, Mexico. She moved to Earth in 1979 from Juarez. Maria loved making tamales and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Atanacio, in 2010, a son, Manuel Resendez, and a grandson.

Survivors include one son, Gerardo Romero of Earth, three daughters, Lydia Resendez, Jovita Romero, and Teresa Reyes, all of Earth, and two sisters, Adella Campos of Juarez, Mexico and Caroline Basurto of Aguas Calientes, Mexico. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 3 at Temple of Adoration in Earth.
