Maria Abelina Zermeno, 85, of Plainview, died Sunday, November 20, 2022, in Plainview, Texas. Rosary will be said in her son's home, at Tony Zermeno, Jr.'s ranch, located at 354 CR 80, at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Plainview, with Fr. Reymundo Manriquez, officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held at her son, Tony Zermeno, Jr.'s ranch, located at 354 CR 80, on Tuesday, November 22.
Maria was born August 30, 1937, in Rio de Vasquez, Jalisco, Mexico, to Jesus and Baldomera (Ramirez) Preciado. She married Antonio Zermeno in 1954 in Mexico. A Plainview resident for over 20 years, Maria was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She enjoyed crocheting, especially baby blankets and clothes. She loved to shop and read and was a talented cook. Time spent praying was also important to Maria.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Trinidad Zermeno in 2019 and Alfonso Zermeno in 1979.
Survivors include her husband, Antonio Zermeno, Sr. of Plainview, five sons, Jose Zermeno and wife Janie of Olton, Tony Zermeno, Jr. and wife Martha of Olton, Jesus Zermeno of Mexico, Moses Zermeno and wife Yesenia of Utah, and Juan Ramon Zermeno and wife Angelica of Mexico, six daughters, Lourdes Zermeno and husband Asuncion Munoz of Mexico, Abelina Zermeno and husband Anacleto Villalobos of Mexico, Maria Guadalupe Zermeno of Mexico, Maria Ofelia Zermeno and husband Odilon Hernandez of Plainview, Veronica Zermeno of Mexico, and Inmaculada Zermeno and husband Ebher Palomino of Plainview, eight brothers, Cruz Preciado of Mexico, Refugio Preciado, Arturo Preciado, Guadalupe Preciado, Ramon Preciado, Enrique Preciado, all of Philadelphia, Jesus Preciado of New York, and Rosario Preciado of Florida, and a sister, Maria de Jesus Preciado of Philadelphia. She was blessed with 48 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
