Marthell Hinson, 86, of Springlake, passed from this earth on May 5, 2020, at her home in Springlake, Texas.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 8, 2020, at Springlake Cemetery, with Brother Rob Norris officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Marthell was born February 24, 1934, in Mt. Vernon, Texas, to Weldon and Estell (Spangler) Barrett.  She graduated from Springlake High School in 1950.  On April 28, 1951, Marthell married Kenneth Hinson in Springlake and they were married over 69 years.  Marthell loved to travel.  While her husband, Kenneth, was in the army, Marthell was able to visit and travel all over Europe while he was on leave.  A member of the Springlake First Baptist Church, Marthell taught sunday school and vacation bible school over the years.  She enjoyed painting, learning about the Indian culture, and Indian jewelry.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Hinson of Springlake and two sons, Kevin Hinson and his wife Kelly of Atlanta, GA and Kent Hinson of Lubbock.  She was blessed with four grandchildren: Mariah, Raven, Taren, and Jacob and two great-grandchildren.
