Mary Evelyn Faver, 75, of Olton, went to be with Jesus, Wednesday, January 28, 2015, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 31, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Brother Larry Holder and Brother Tom Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Mary was born November 8, 1939, in Pampa, to Arthur and Bertha (Johnson) Heflin. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1958. In 1985, Mary married the love of her life, Burley Faver in Hale Center. Moving to Olton over 30 years ago from Hale Center, Mary was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Olton. She was a secretary for State Farm Insurance Co. for 16 years and was named Olton's Woman of the Year in 2011. Mary had a servant's heart. She volunteered for the Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association and at the Runningwater Draw Care Center. She was an avid animal rescuer and loved to bowl. Mary was a very genuine person who loved everyone and she will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burley, in 2005 and a brother, Carroll Heflin in 2007.

Survivors include her son, Sammy Uptergrove of Portland, Texas, three daughters, Suzanne Carmichael and her husband, Richard of Arlington, Mendy Smith and her husband, Scott of Lubbock, and Marla Faver and her husband, Scott Phipps of Robertsdale, Alabama. Mary was blessed with seven grandchildren: Derek Stanko, Calie and Morgan Carmichael, Taylor and Haylee Uptergrove, and Carson and Garrett Smith.

The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 30, 2015.
