IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary
Myers
February 12, 1928 – December 20, 2025
Mary Myers, 97, of Olton, died Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Olton, with Michael Smith and Brother Kyle Streun officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Ramage Funeral Directors.
Mary was born February 12, 1928, in Charlie, Texas, to Lacy and Lela (Blaylock) Caswell. She graduated from Olton High School in 1945 and later completed LVN school in 1977. On July 9, 1946, she married Parley Myers in Olton.
A lifetime Olton resident and member of the First Baptist Church, Mary loved being a nurse. She worked for Dr. Johns in Olton, at Central Plains Hospital in Plainview, and for Dr. Busby in Plainview. Family was central to Mary's life — she enjoyed sewing (making many of her children's clothes), baking what many called the best chocolate chip cookies, hosting Thanksgiving for relatives for more than 50 years, playing Bunko, and listening to gospel music. She was an avid supporter of Olton athletics and enjoyed Texas Tech women's basketball and the Dallas Cowboys. Her grandchildren were especially dear to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Parley Myers (2010); sisters Ozell Caswell and Beverly York; nieces Cindy Blessen and Teresa Etchison; and nephew Randy York.
Survivors include her daughters Lana Gregory and husband Gary of Amarillo and Denise Jordan and husband Norman of Amarillo; a brother, D.C. "Sonny" Caswell of LaPorte, Texas; grandchildren Scott Smith and wife Shonda of Amarillo, Michael Smith and wife Melissa of Red River, New Mexico, and Skeet Fincher of Amarillo; and five great-grandchildren: Kylee, Tyler, Gibson, Xander, and Zoie.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Cindy Caswell Blessen Scholarship Fund, in care of South Plains College, Levelland.
