Matthew Garcia, 44, of Olton, died Sunday, October 2, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, in Olton. Interment with military honors will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, October 7, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Matthew was born in Newton, Kansas, to Salomon and Dorothy (Ellis) Garcia, on September 18, 1978.  He graduated from Olton High School in 1998.  After joining the United States Army, in 1999, Matthew served at Ft. Wainwright, in Alaska, until 2002. He married the love of his life, Annabelle Davis, on February 13, 2003, in Olton.  Matthew's main priority in life was his family and he was a dedicated father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He was very patriotic and had a strong love for his country.  An avid gun and sportsman enthusiast, Matthew was also a talented musician and artist.  He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking, remodeling and repair work, and gardening.  Always the jokester, Matthew had a great sense of humor.  Consistently putting others before himself, Matthew was there to help whenever needed.  Gone too soon, Matthew will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Garcia, in 2015, and his sister, Anna Jones, in 2011.

Survivors include his wife, Annabelle Garcia of Olton, his daughter, Mariana Dorothy Garcia of Olton, his father, Salomon Garcia of La Grange, three brothers, Abel Garcia of Plainview, Timothy Garcia of Trenton, and Greg Garcia of Olton, and his sister, Gabriella Garcia of San Angelo.
