Obituary
Modesta Rivera, 91, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in Olton. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Friday, August 1, 2008 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 2, 2008 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Olton Cemetery.
Mrs. Rivera was born February 24, 1917 in Barstow, TX. She married Antonio Rivera in Pecos, TX. He preceded her in death in 1980. She had been an Olton resident since 1952. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a member of the Cursillista Movement.
Survivors include two sons, Tiodoro Rivera of Olton and Pedro Rivera of Leavenworth, Kansas, seven daughters, Nolberta Almanza, Josefa Gloria, and Nicomedes Anzaldua all of Littlefield, Inocencia Rey of San Antonio, Maria Hernandez of Plainview, Dominga Sanchez of Garland, and Eliza Sauceda of Olton. A brother, Santana Villalobos of Pecos, TX, three sisters, Chona Morales of Big Spring, Alcaria Mata of San Diego, CA, and Castula Haufman of Okalahoma. She was blessed with 40 grandchildren, 100 great grandchildren, and 20 great great grandchildren.
