Odelia DeLaRosa Ruiz, 80, of Olton, died Monday, September 23, 2013, in Olton. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 24 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 25, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Odelia was born May 15, 1933, in La Feria, Texas to Federico and Maria Garcia DeLaRosa. She moved to Olton in 1948 from La Feria and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. On May 26, 1953, she married Guadalupe Ruiz in Clovis. Odelia loved to cook and take care of her family. She especially enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with friends. Along with her own children, she raised a very special niece, Carmen Ramirez.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Ruiz, in 2000 and a daughter, Dora Valdez, in 1979.

Survivors include two sons, Lupe Ruiz and his wife, Norma of Olton and Nathaniel Ruiz and his wife, Roxanne of Olton, six daughters, Sylvia Fuentes and her husband, Sammy of Olton, Lucia Ruiz and Diana Ruiz, both of Olton, Zenaida Corpus and her husband, Ernest of Olton, Rachel Ramirez and her husband, Martin of Floydada, and Andrea Lopez and her husband, Ronny of Olton, and one sister, Florinda Ramirez of Lubbock. She was blessed with 28 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
