Pablo F. Almanza, 79, of Olton died Sunday, December 27 in Lubbock. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 31 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Pablo was born October 3, 1930 in Colorado City, Texas to Pablo and Angela Flores Almanza. He married Nolberta Rivera and they were together for over fifty years. He served in the Army for 25 years as a Sergeant First Class. Pablo returned to college and was the oldest graduate of South Plains College in 1975. He lived in Olton for over 24 years and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He also was involved in the Cursillista Movement and the VFW Posts in Plainview and San Angelo.
Mr. Almanza was preceded in death by a brother, Guellermo Almanza.
Survivors include his wife, Nolberta Almanza of Littlefield, two sons, Pablo Almanza of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Tomas Almanza of San Antonio, three daughters, Angela Minjarez of Robert Lee, TX, Mary Ellen Rivera of Littlefield, and Violet Lopez of Littlefield, and one sister, Rufina Huggins of Lodi, CA. He was blessed with twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
