Obituary

Peggy Jean Lay, 83, of Maryland Heights, MO, and formerly of Olton, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Missouri. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, May 15, 2015, at Littlefield Memorial Park in Littlefield with Mr. Jim Harris officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton.

Peggy was born May 17, 1931, in Plainview, Texas to Homer and Blanche (McVickers) Bond. She married Emanuel (Scotty) George Lay on January 24, 1948. Peggy and her husband, Scotty, were a truck driving team for many years and she enjoyed that very much! She was very athletic, an avid sports fan, and she drove a bus for a football team while living in California. She retired to Olton, Texas in 1993 and was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. Her husband, Scotty, passed away in 1994 and in 2005, she moved to the St. Louis, MO area to be near her son, Jack and daughter-in-law.

Peggy was also preceded in death by three children, Linda Collins, Jack Wayne Lay and David Lay, two brothers, Jim and Jackie, and three sisters, Murl, Zoe, and Nadine.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son-in-law, Howard Collins, daughter-in-law, Martha Lay, and a sister, Jane Wilks of Olton. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Kim White, Richard Scott Collins, and Jason Dansby and 13 great-grandchildren.
