Pura De Vega, 63, of Olton, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in Olton.  Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Friday, May 17, 2019, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton.  Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 18, 2019, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. Heriberto Mercado officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Friday, May 17, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Pura was born August 14, 1955, in San Nicholas de los Garza, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Manuel and Vicenta (Ruiz) Gonzalez.  She grew up in Allende Coahuila, Mexico.  On October 27, 1975, Pura married Eusebio Vega in Olton and they were together over 43 years.  They moved to Hart in 1984 before moving back to Olton in 2009.  A member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas, Pura was a strong lady with a strong faith.  She was the roots to the family tree and always had the last word.  She loved cooking, Spanish music, the Texas Rangers, and Mexican Bingo.  Always up for a challenge, Pura enjoyed entering sports pots which she generally won.  Most of all, Pura loved getting together with family and her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, Pura was survived by her husband, Eusebio Vega of Olton, two sons, Ramiro Vega and his wife Patty of Olton and Rudy Vega and his wife Vanessa of Olton, three daughters, Maria Azucena Vega of Olton, Daisy Almendarez and her husband Poncho of Hart, and Flor Suarez and her husband Alan of San Antonio, one brother, Alberto Gonzalez and his wife Matilde of Olton, and two sisters, Irene Aviles of Eagle Pass and Juanita Ruiz and her husband Vicente of Plainview.  She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Odalis Vega, E.J. Vega, Joshlyn Vega, Xander Vega, Michelle Vega, A.J. Vega, Dariel Almendarez, Jaziel Almendarez, and Uriel Almendarez.
