Raul was born December 26, 1967, in Praxedis, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Francisco and Maria Auxilio Gonzalez Guerrero. He moved to Edmonson in 1982 and graduated from Kress High School in 1987. He was married to Elida Jimenez for 32 years and together they raised a loving family.

A hardworking and dedicated man, Raul farmed cotton, corn, wheat, and milo for 32 years. He later served as maintenance director and bus driver for Kress ISD for five years. He was a faithful member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Hart.

Raul treasured time spent with his family. He enjoyed grilling, family trips, caring for his grandchildren, and creating lasting memories with his children, including trips to Six Flags after a good rain on the farm. Among his proudest accomplishments were his 32-year farming career, competing on back-to-back state track teams during high school, and becoming a grandfather. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, devotion to his family, and the love he shared with those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arturo Guerrero; and a sister, Herlinda Guerrero.

Survivors include his sons, Hector Guerrero of Lewisville and Damian Guerrero and wife Lluvia of Lubbock; his daughter, Damarys Guerrero of San Antonio; three brothers, Aurelio Guerrero and wife Maria of Edmonson, Jose Guerrero and wife Rosalia of Praxedis, Chihuahua, Mexico, and Efren Guerrero and wife Luz of Odessa; three sisters, Socorra Rosales and husband Lorenzo of Praxedis, Chihuahua, Mexico, Olivia Carreon and husband Alvaro of Odessa, and Guadalupe Rodriguez and husband Jesus of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and two grandchildren, Amavi and Vasni.
