Obituary

Raul Garza Ramirez, 87, of Hart, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Olton. Rosary will be said from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Mass will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, March 19, 2012, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview with Fr. Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Interment will follow at Hart Cemetery in Hart under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Raul was born June 22, 1924 in San Antonio to Francisco and Dominga Garza Ramirez. He married Elvira Castillo on May 8, 1943. In 1964, they moved to Hart from San Antonio. He was a talented mechanic and owned and operated R.G. and Sons Trucking.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvira in 2008, three sons, Jimmy C. Ramirez, Valentine Ramirez, and Vale Ramirez, and a daughter, Maria Ramirez.

Survivors include seven sons, Raul C. Ramirez, Jr. of Hart, Johnny C. Ramirez of California, Raymond C. Ramirez of Hart, Frank C. Ramirez of Hart, Edward C. Ramirez of Hart, Joe C. Ramirez of Hart, and Robert C. Ramirez of Grapevine, seven daughters, Guadalupe R. Leiva of Ojinaga, Mexico, Irene R. Padilla of Hart, Rosa R. Hernandez of Victoria, Mary R. Armendariz of Ft. Worth, Mary Jane R. Gonzales of Olton, Irma R. Dominguez of Hart, and Aurora R. Luna of Plainview, a brother, Heraldo Luna of Robstown, and two sisters, Chata Luna and Nena Luna, both of San Antonio. He was blessed with 66 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
