Reyes Ruiz Garza, 80, of Olton, died Thursday, April 4, 2024, in Olton, Texas.  Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2024, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton.  A communion service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 8, 2024, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in Olton, with Deacon Natividad Sandoval officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 7, at Ramage Funeral Directors, in Olton.

Reyes was born January 1, 1944, in El Realito, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Saturnino and Guadalupe (Ruiz) Garza.  On July 4, 1964, Reyes married Maria Solis, in Idaho.  A mechanic and farmer over the years, Reyes and Maria moved to Olton in 1985 from Mountain Home, Idaho.  He was a very laid-back man and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Maria Garza in 2019, a son, Eddie Garza in 2019, and three brothers.

Reyes is survived by three sons, Juan Garza and wife Elizabeth of Olton, Reyes Garza, Jr. and wife Brenda of Plainview, and Richie Garza and wife Mashawn of Wildorado, his daughter, Alicia Sanchez and husband Joe of Olton, and a brother, Ramon Garza of Edinburg, Texas. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
