Richard Travis Roberson, 84, of Olton, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016, in Olton. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Olton Cemetery with Mr. Chris Jones and Mr. Ricky Smith officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, November 18, 2016.

Richard was born in Dalhart, Texas, the first cesarean birth in Texas, on October 19, 1932, to Jones Collins and Loula (Brewer) Roberson. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1950 and served in the United States Air Force as a crew chief mechanic on a B-26 Marauder. After his honorable discharge in 1955, he married the love of his life, JoLene Keasler on October 10, 1955. Together they owned and operated Roberson's Exxon and later, Roberson's Mobile from 1955 to 1997.

Richard lived an extraordinary life. He was a member of the USAF volleyball team in the European World Championship, a world class skeet shooter, and raised champion hunting dogs and English bulldogs. During his retirement, he became the number one dealer in the United States of ClubCar Golf Cars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, JoLene, in 2012, his son, Mark Roberson in 1998, and his parents.

Survivors include numerous nephews, nieces, and a special cousin, Willa Jean Shelton of Oklahoma. He is also survived by many close friends and his caregivers, Ricky and Deborah Smith.
