Rob Norris, 73, of Springlake, Texas, died Thursday, July 31, 2025. Rob was born July 11, 1952, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Lewis and Dorothy (Goss) Norris. He graduated from Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs in 1970. A gifted musician with a heart for ministry, Rob traveled with the Christian music group The Jeremiah People, where he sang and played bass.
He attended Northern Colorado University before transferring to Southwest Baptist University, graduating in 1976. He went on to earn his Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1979.
Rob dedicated his life to ministry, faithfully serving in churches and mission fields across the country and abroad. He served for over five years at Bethlehem Baptist Church in South Carolina, ministered with the Home Mission Board in Aspen, Colorado, and spent nine years in Suriname, South America, on the foreign mission field. He later served as Director of Missions for the Denver Southern Baptist Association for seven years and, for the past eleven years, was pastor of Springlake First Baptist Church. He also served as Interim Pastor for many other congregations throughout his ministry.
Rob was a loving, caring person who never met a stranger. On February 19, 2011, Rob married Judy Williams and they had over 14 wonderful years together. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around, always bringing joy wherever he went. He was passionate about music and loved to sing. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and Colorado Avalanche, and enjoyed playing golf and watching just about any sport. He also loved reading, traveling, and taking road trips.
Above all, Rob loved his family deeply and loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith, joy, and warmth left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Dorothy Norris.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Norris of Springlake; two sons, Chad D. Norris of Broomfield, CO, and Geoffrey R. Norris of Boulder, CO; two daughters, Christina May and husband Ron of Gibsonville, NC, and Elizabeth Ann Norris of Denver, CO; three bonus sons, Brian Williams of Denver, CO, Adrian Williams and wife Roseanna of Albuquerque, NM, and Colt Williams and wife Elzy of Centennial, CO; one brother, John Norris and wife Christie of Denver, CO and his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Dorinda Cooper of Somerville, TX.
