Robert McCurry, 82, of Springlake, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in Olton. Services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 5, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Springlake with Brother Glenn Harlin officiating. Interment will follow at Littlefield Memorial Park in Littlefield under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Robert was born December 6, 1928 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma to William "Bill" and Rosie Richardson McCurry. He married Annie Foley on December 23, 1953 in Lubbock. In 1968, they moved to Springlake from Spade where he farmed until retiring in 2004. He was a former board member for the Springlake Farmers Coop and a member of the First Baptist Church in Springlake. Robert was a staunch supporter of the Olton Mustangs and he loved to fish and hunt. His main hobby was loving and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kelly McCurry, and a daughter, Joy McCurry, a grandson, Tyler McCurry, three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Annie of Springlake, a son, Jimmy McCurry and his wife, Betty of Earth, a sister, Emma Joyce Talley of Carbon, TX, and two grandchildren.
