Robert Eugene Williams Jr., 74, of Olton passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023. He was born July 9, 1948, in Childress, Texas to Robert Eugene Williams Sr. and Madie Merle (Perkins) Williams. He married Theresa Ann Creek March 6, 1981, in Olton.
Robert worked at the Olton Coop-Gin and retired after 33 years as a ginner/supervisor. He enjoyed being outdoors where he could camp and fish. He never met a stranger. He loved to visit with people and would ride his golf cart all over town doing just that. He was a great man, loving, easy going and always happy. He had a giving heart and would do anything for anyone.
He was a volunteer firefighter at the Olton Fire Department. He was also a driver for the Olton EMS Ambulance Association and a member of the Olton Church of Christ.
Robert is survived by his wife, Theresa Ann Williams of Olton; a son, Robert Eugene Williams III of Lubbock, Texas; four grandchildren, Natalie Grace Williams and Ashlyn Haylee Valenzuela of Mississippi, D'neise Laverty of Shallowater, Texas and Kailey Kratochwill of Hot Springs, Arkansas; three great grandchildren; his mother Madie Merle Williams of Olton, Texas; three brothers, Alan Williams (Dani) of Olton, Texas, Kevin (Brenda) Williams of Olton, Texas and Chris (Twilla) Williams of Nazareth, Texas; two sisters, Fredda (Leland) Dear of Olton, Texas and Linda (Bill) Garlick of North Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Eugene Williams Sr., a daughter, Toyika Tiechelle Williams, a daughter in-law, Mistee Byrd Williams and a sister-in-law, Nina Williams.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday June 24, 2023, at Main Street Church of Christ in Olton with Johnny Ray Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association (PO Box 1087 Olton TX 79064) or Olton Cemetery Association (PO Box 1055 Olton TX 79064).
