Ronnie Cantrell, 72, of Tucumcari and formerly of Earth, died Sunday, November 1, 2020, in Amarillo.  No services are scheduled at this time.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Ronnie Joe was born January 3, 1948, in Amherst, Texas, to Vernie and Claudia (Crossland) Cantrell.  Ronnie served in the United States Army in the 1st Calvary Division from 1966 to 1967 during the Vietnam War.  A talented welder and mechanic, Ronnie enjoyed working with his hands.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt.  Ronnie also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved racing cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Stacy Murray and Jody Cantrell, a son, Billy T. Cantrell, two brothers, and five sisters.

Ronnie is survived by two brothers, Rudy Cantrell of Earth and Gene Cantrell of Amherst, and four sisters, Ruby Fulenwider of Springlake, Renda Bailey of Springlake, Linda Bishop of Conway, Arkansas, and Peggy Alvarado of Forney.
