Rosa Banda,76, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 in Amarillo, Texas. Rosary services will be Monday, March 2, 2008 at 7:00 PM at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be held at 3:00 PM, March 3, 2009 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton with Father John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Rosa was born March 1, 1932 in Fentress, TX to Juan and Margarita Pena. She married Marcelo Banda and they moved to Olton in 1972 from Petersburg. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by five sons and five daughters: Francisco Banda of Dallas, Jose Guadalupe Banda of Olton, Johnny Banda of Buckeye, AR, Ray Banda of Olton, and Raul Vargas of Plainview, Sylvia Pedroza of Amarillo, Olivia Elizondo of Levelland, Irma Cook of Ayrshire, IA, Maria Chavez of Walsenburg, CO, and Marcela Salinas of Plainview. She is also survived by two brothers: Jesse Pena of Lubbock and Ramon Pena of Lubbock. She was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcelo, in 2002.
