Frances Rowena Bryant, 95, of Olton, died Monday, September 5, 2016, in Plano. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Main Street Church of Christ in Olton with Mr. Brad Wangerin and Mr. Joe Carrasco officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton. The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, September 9, 2016.
Rowena was born November 20, 1920, in Lamb County, Texas, to Terrell and Lily (Collins) Combest. She graduated from Olton High School in 1938. On April 20, 1940, she married John Elmo Bryant in Clovis, N.M. A very involved member of Main Street Church of Christ in Olton, Rowena was the secretary for Goen Irrigation for over 35 years. She enjoyed being with family and loved having her nieces and nephews visit throughout the years. Close to many in the Olton community, Rowena says "Olton has been my home all my life, so I feel a close connection with so many people and love them all." A special lady that will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Bryant in 1993, a son, Don Bryant, two brothers, and a sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mark Bryant and his wife, Karlyn of The Colony, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
