Roy Whitman Dobbs Jr, 85, of El Paso, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in El Paso. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, October 23, 2009 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock with John Ballard, Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church in Lubbock, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Mr. Dobbs was born March 14, 1924 in Wellington, Texas to Nellie Payne Dobbs and Roy Whitman Dobbs, Sr. He graduated from Olton High School in 1942. He served his country during World War II for three years in the Army Air Force. Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock. He was a linotype operator and had lived in El Paso the past twenty years.

Survivors include his sister, Dorothy Dobbs Parish and her husband, Kenneth of Lubbock, and two nephews, Sam Parish of Benbrook, and Danny Parish of Earth.
