Ruben Aguirre, 82, of Hale Center, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, in Amarillo. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, May 22, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Hale Center. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 23, at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Father Jacob Puthuparambil officiating. Interment will follow at Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Hale Center.

Ruben was born February 23, 1934, in Presidio, Texas, to Pablo and Angelica (Hernandez) Aguirre. A lifetime Hale Center resident, he was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Ruben owned and operated Pollard's Cleaners in Hale Center before retiring from Vick's Cleaners in Plainview. He thoroughly enjoyed his cars and spending time with his family. Carpentry and working outdoors was also some of his favorite things to do.

Survivors include three daughters, Lydia Gonzalez of San Antonio, Selma Hulcy of Bushland, and Angie Massey of Fredericksburg, and three sisters, Alma Huerta of Odessa, Linda Montez of Austin, and Sylvia Mansanales of Corpus Christie. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
