Ruby Fulenwider, 81, of Springlake, died Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, in Springlake, Texas, with Brother Rob Norris officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Ruby was born December 31, 1942, in Sudan, Texas, to Vernie "Dink" and Claudia (Crossland) Cantrell. A lifetime Springlake area resident, Ruby married Jimmie Fulenwider on October 19, 1959 and they were married over 64 years. Ruby was a long-time employee at the Pay N Save in Earth and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springlake. In her earlier years, Ruby loved sports and enjoyed playing softball and attending area sporting events. Ruby enjoyed painting and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Tammy Ray, four brothers, Billy Cantrell, her twin brother, Rudy Cantrell, Ronnie Cantrell, and James Cantrell and five sisters, Patsy Scott, Pansy Gilmore, Gloria French, Louise Fulenwider, and Nancy Cantrell.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Jimmie Fulenwider of Springlake, her son, Jimmy D. Fulenwider and wife Michelle of Earth, her daughter, Cindy Fulenwider of Hereford, a brother, Gene Cantrell and wife Paula of Lubbock, three sisters, Linda Bishop and husband Bill of Conway, Arkansas, Renda Bailey of Springlake, and Peggy Alvarado of Conway, Arkansas.  She was blessed with six grandchildren: Amber Ray, Jenny Barnes, Cory Ray, Tyler Fulenwider, Cheyanne DeLeon, and Livia Fulenwider, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
