Severo Ignacio Gonzales II, 70, of Olton, died Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in Plainview, Texas. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the rosary being said at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Ramage Funeral Directors. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in Olton, with Fr. Alex Ambrose officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Severo was born February 1, 1954, in Beeville, Texas, to Severo and Aurora (Garza) Gonzales. A longtime Olton resident, Severo attended St. Peter's Catholic Church. He loved to fish and enjoyed his dogs. Severo also enjoyed hunting for treasures and collecting antiques. Above all else, Severo loved his family and spending time with them every chance he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Severo and Aurora Gonzales, a sister, Rumalda Saldivar, and a niece, Priscilla Saldivar.
Severo is survived by his sons, Severo Ignacio Gonzales III of Olton and Sergio Ignacio Gonzales of Denver, his daughters, Sylvia Benitez and husband Jose of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Sabrina Salazar of Kenosha, WI, two brothers, Pete Gonzales and wife Rosemary of Garland and Jesus Gonzales of Olton, and five sisters, Elfida Perez of Olton, Janie Fall and husband Cecil Fuentes of Cleburne, Lupe Robbins and husband Steve of Prosper, Elsa Stephens-Gonzales of Wylie, and JoAnn Gonzales of Aubrey. He was blessed with five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
