Sibyl Jones, 86, of Olton, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Olton. Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Brother Patrick Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Sibyl was born March 16, 1923 in Cranfills Gap, Texas to Emil and Beulah Smith Sorley. She had lived in Olton since 1929 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She married Owen Jones July 20, 1941 at Valley View Church and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and loved to sew and quilt. Sibyl led a life of service. She will be remembered by her wonderful voice as she sang at numerous weddings, funerals, and nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Jones in 2009, two daughters, Janie Jones and Cherry Jones, two brothers, and a sister.

Survivors include a son, George Jones and his wife, Tammye of Paris, TX, two daughters, Marilyn Carson and her husband, Eddy of Dalhart, Valda Burkhalter and her husband, Jackie of Spearman, two brothers, Grady Sorley of Bovina, and Gene Sorley of Lubbock, and a sister, Anita Powell of Somerville, TX. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
