Sofia Garcia, 75, of Olton, died Monday, August 8, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Main Street Church of Christ, in Olton, with Evangelist Dallas Carrasco, officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Sofia was born in Beeville, Texas, on October 7, 1946, to Joe and Estella (Garcia) Carrasco.  A lifetime Olton resident, Sofia was a homemaker and an amazing cook.  She enjoyed gardening, collecting crosses, and decorating for holidays.  Sofia was considered a grandmother to all, and she had an open door and a hot meal for everyone.  Sofia was real and kept it honest.  You always knew where you stood with her.  Most of all, Sofia loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and she will be dearly missed.

Sofia was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a nephew, Joe Carrasco.

Survivors include her sons, Gilbert Garcia of Brownsville and Fernando Garcia of Lubbock, her daughter, Estella Garcia of Olton, two brothers, Manuel Carrasco of Olton and Rolando Carrasco of Big Spring, and three sisters, Lupe Carrasco of Lubbock, Rosa Garcia of Olton, and Diana Aleman of Beeville.  She was blessed with five grandchildren: Victoria Garcia, Nick Garcia, Rick Garcia, Albert Sinaloa, and David Sinaloa and one great grandson, Uriah Sinaloa.
