Stella Quintana, 100, of Hale Center, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018, in Levelland. Services will be held at 7:30 P.M., Friday, October 19, 2018, in the Family Center at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center with Rev. Rush Coffman officiating. The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Friday, October 19, 2018.
Stella was born in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico, on March 14, 1918, to Pete and Guadalupe Lucero. Moving to the Hale Center area in 1922, Stella was a lifelong resident and member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. She married Justo Quintana in 1933, in Lubbock, and was a homemaker. A very feisty and strong lady, Stella was an excellent cook and enjoyed doing embroidery work. She also loved taking care of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Justo Quintana, in 2002, a daughter, Mary Virginia Quintana, in 1945, two sisters, and three brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Roman Quintana of Amarillo and John Quintana and his wife Olga of Hale Center, and her daughter, Mary V. Coffman and her husband Rush of Morton. She was blessed with five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-granddaughter.
The family suggests memorials be made to Jerusalem Baptist Church in care of Terry Wright.
