Thomas R. Escalante, 61, of Earth, died Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Littlefield, Texas. Arrangements are being handled by Ramage Funeral Directors.

Thomas was born August 24, 1963, in Dimmitt, Texas, to Francisco and Carmelita (Ruiz) Escalante. A lifetime Earth area resident, Thomas worked in the cotton gins for many years.  On July 19, 1979, Thomas married Mary Jane Polando. Thomas spent his time working, which is what he loved. He was a jack of all trades and was a talented mechanic and welder.  When he wasn't working, Thomas enjoyed being with his family. He loved his boys and grandchildren. Gathering together for a meal and cooking out were his most cherished times.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Jane Escalante in 2019, a son, Fabian Escalante, three sisters, and two brothers.

Survivors include his partner, Elva Rosalez of Earth, three sons, Gabriel Escalante of Lubbock, Javier Escalante of Earth, and Thomas Escalante, Jr. of Earth, three bonus sons, Eduardo Rosalez of Midland, Ivan Rosalez of Plainview, and Larry Rosalez of Springlake, and five sisters, Mary Ann Ramon of Earth, Alicia Vasquez of Earth, Frances Elizondo of Earth, Isabel Nieto of Phoenix, AZ, and Martha Rendon of Modesto, CA. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Abrie, Fabian, Francisco, Briana, Cruz, and Jazmine.
