Tommy Thornton, 63, of Hale Center, died Sunday, May 31, 2020, in Lubbock.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Jerusalem Community Baptist Church in Hale Center with Brother Terry Wright officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Tommy was born November 28, 1956, in Littlefield, Texas.  A lifetime Hale Center resident, Tommy worked at Cargill in Plainview for over 25 years.  On March 19, 1987, Tommy married Cora Johnson in Plainview.  Tommy was a quiet man and loved listening to music.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cora, in 2018, and a sister, Wilma Thornton.

Survivors include three sons, Marlin Johnson of Lubbock, Maurice Johnson and his wife Cendeca of Lubbock, and Marcus Johnson of Amarillo, two daughters, Tamina Grant and her husband Nick of Lubbock and Tiffany Williams and her husband Billy of Lubbock, two brothers, Paul Thornton of Colorado and Jerry Thornton of Albuquerque, and a sister, Priscilla Thornton of Dallas.  He was blessed with 26 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
