Obituary

Tony "Seminole" Perez, 71, of Olton, died Friday, April 29, 2011, in Olton. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, May 1, 2011 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, May 2, 2011, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Antonio Perez Almaraz was born August 25, 1939 in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico to Jesus and Maria Almaraz Perez. He moved to Olton in 1952 to work and support his family in Mexico. He was a very hard-working man who farmed and worked at elevators. He was a boxing coach and enjoyed working with young people and volunteering at many Golden Gloves tournaments. On August 18, 1973, he married Gloria Ochoa. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Tony loved his family greatly and was very proud of his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jacinta Cuevas.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Perez of Olton, two sons, Tony Perez, Jr., of Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico, and Raul "Raton" Perez of Amarillo, three daughters, Maria Guadalupe Ibanez of Amarillo, Maricela Hernandez of Amarillo, and Maria Elena Perez of Olton, three brothers, Manuel Perez of Rio Grande, Mexico, Jesus Perez, Jr. of Rio Grande, Mexico, and Abel Perez of Killeen, and four sisters, Alicia Rivera Perez of Juarez, Mexico, Mary Neel of Alamogordo, N.M, Terry Garza of Killeen, and Angeles Vega of Zacatecas, Mexico. He was blessed with fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
