Obituary
Velma Curry, 97, of Olton, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Olton. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Mr. Donnie Brown officiating.
Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Velma was born October 24, 1915, in Seymour, Texas to J.D. and Viola Moore Hudgens. She married Homer Lee Curry on July 24, 1932. She was a lifetime Olton resident, member of the First Baptist Church, and a member of the Home Demonstration Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lee Curry, in 1985, a son, Homer Lee Curry, Jr., and a brother, Albert Earl Hudgens.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Curry and his wife, Elna of Tucson, AZ, and a sister, Mattie Sugart of Canyon. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Cimarron Curry and his wife, Debrah and Cheyenne Curry and his wife, Julie. Velma had five great-grandchildren, Crystal, Christopher, ShaLaynea, Garrett, and Coty.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Olton Cemetery Association P.O. Box 1055 Olton, TX 79064 or the Runningwater Draw Care Center P.O. Box 409 Olton, TX 79064.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Saturday, April 6, 2013.
